What museums in Barcelona should you visit ? Any tips for travelling to Barcelona? These questions often arise, whether it is at a celebration, a party or simply having lunch with some friends. Well, the thing is that there is so much to see and so much to do in Barcelona that the answer to this is not easy to find. So, let’s put it in the hands of a connoisseur, Bob. Bob is a independent writer for an English paper and lives in Barcelona for over 15 years.

When going to Barcelona; What museum can’t I miss Bob? The question seems not too difficult for the writer that answers as follows:

“With over fifty museums, Barcelona is Europe’s favorite tourist destination. Barcelona’s offer can be entirely personalized to anyone’s taste. It depends whether you are a civilization lover, a sports fan, a nature lover and so on. Apparently there are, like your question already indicates, some museums in Barcelona you cannot miss.

My favourite fiveof museums not to miss would be as follows:

1 – Sagrada Famila. Sagrada Familia is famous architect Antoni Gaudi’s lifework is the life work of Barcelona Architect Antonio Gaudi. This church is under construction since 1882 and is truly impressive to see.

2 – Dali Museum. The Museo Dali Dali museum is not located in the city center but at about an hour driving from Barcelona in a small town called Figueres. The Museo Dali is truly a joy for the eye. You will induce the art of Salvador Dali in person. That is the beauty of it. More than an art visit, this is a real art experience. Numerous works can only be learnt from when one visits the museum.

3 – Museo Picasso. The Picasso Museum is dedicated to one of Spain’s master artists Pablo Picasso. In the Picasso Museum you will find a wide collection of Pablo Picasso, in particular drawings from the time lapse Picasso lived in the south of France.

4 – Museo Nacional de Arte de Cataluña (MNAC). The Museo Nacional de Arte de Cataluña must be the museum I know with the best location. It is situated on the Montjuich mountain just up from Plaza de España. The museum itself is the national palace and is still sometimes used for official receptions when King Juan Carlos visits the city of Barcelona.

5 – Camp Nou and museum of FC Barcelona. As I am a sports fan myself, I cannot leave this one out of the list. All the history of the very well-known known “Futbol Club Barcelona” is gathered in this place. It is recommendable to visit the museum followed by a stadium tour as this gives you the complete impression.”

By far the most comfortable way to visit all the museums in Barcelona (except for the Museo Dalí) in one day would be to take the “Bus Turistic”. This Tourist bus will take you to all famous landmarks and museums. The buses leave from Plaza de Catalonia and cost around 22 euros per adult.

Bob adds to the top 5 list of what to see: “The best tip I can give you is to explore Barcelona by yourself. Make your own way through the noisy streets of Barcelona. Gather all the information about the museums in Barcelona you want to visit and mark them on a map. You will really get the impression of being a local when you organize your own day of sightseeing. Take the metro in Barcelona. It is cheap, fast, easy and will get you about anywhere. By renting one of the many tourist apartments in Barcelona, you will feel even more integrated in the Catalonian society.”

With these tips of local expert Bob you should be ready to go to Barcelona.

Having a drink floating on in Barcelona’s enchanting old harbor (Port Vell)? That is surprisingly nice at the Luz de Gas restaurant located in the harbor of Barcelona. Luz de Gas is a bar-restaurant located on a boat. While you enjoy a nice drink you have magnificent views all over the harbor where many yaughts and sailing ships are moored. Opposite to this you find the avenue that will lead you to the sea of Barcelona. One can even see the Montjuïc mountain where the 1992 Olympics were held .

The restaurant presents you a small card including a variety of meat and fish. It’s also possible to enjoy the reknown Spanish tapas such as“patatas bravas”, “gambas al ajillo” and “olives”. One can have drinks like lemonade , beer, wine, cava, cocktails and naturally Sangria. The restaurant is very cozy with a wooden deck and the marine colors, dark blue and white which are used for the tables, chairs and shades .

After a sunny day at the beaches of Barcelona one can enjoy the at ease chill-out music that is playing on the background and feel the ship a little dining what gives you the feeling that you are really floating on the sea. On top of the ship you can sit in the sun and experience a sea breeze blowing through your hair. While you are having a glass you may have a look at the beautiful boats or see the people that are strolling along the boardwalk .

To get to the restaurant you can take the yellow metro line (4 ) and you get out at the Barceloneta station . From there you can walk to the port and you will see the bar-restaurant a little on the left side across some fish restaurants. When continuing all the way down the Ramblas of Barcelona and take a left when you arrive in front of the statue of Columbus.

Would you like to live the sensation of eating and drinking at a floating restaurant? Would you like to visit the wonderful city and port of Barcelona named Barceloneta? Well then don’t miss this floating bar-restaurant . In order to really feel like a local , a good advice is to rent a short-stay accommodation in Barcelona. One can find a wide natural selection of apartments in Barcelona near the harbor and restaurant boat at numerous lease agencies.
