The city of Birmingham is situated in the English county known as the West Midlands and those living in the city are called “Brummies”. Birmingham’s dialect sounds like those from other northern English cities and it is rather difficult to follow what is being said a problem which is made even worst if you have not heard it before. Thankfully nearly all folk from Birmingham are polite, kind and extremely helpful and try their best to explain so if necessary don’t hesitate to talk to locals about help and directions or guidance in choosing bed and breakfast accommodation in Birmingham.

Birmingham possesses a superb number of places to visit and things to do which include some highly informative museums and art galleries, for example the fascinating Ikon Gallery, Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, Barber Institute of Fine Arts, Museum of the Jewellery Quarter and the new Thinktank in the Eastside. Birmingham also has a huge number of hectares of parks and woodland, Sutton Park is the largest with 970 hectares it is also the largest urban nature reserve in Europe.

The city has a vibrant and varied nightlife with a large number restaurants, nightclubs, bars and cafes. You will find some of the most popular in one of the city’s squares, Victoria Square, Centenary Square, St Martin’s Square, Chamberlain Square, the historic Old Square at Corporation Street, Rotunda Square and the Gas Street Basin. Gas Street Basin is the central hub of the city’s canal system. The city has roughly 32 miles of canal waterways with a total of 8 canals which were dug during the eighteenth century and remained in use until the late 20th century. Nowadays the site has been renovated and regenerated and is now a incredibly popular visitor attraction.

Important Facts Concerning The City Of Birmingham

If you are thinking about taking a vacation in the city of Birmingham it is important to know that although there are many Birmingham hotels and guest houses finding Birmingham bed and breakfast can every now and again be rather difficult. It is because of this that it is vitally important to book your accommodation at the earliest opportunity. You should be aware that the closest airport is approximately eight miles east of the center of the city just off the A45 and near the M42 (junction 6). You will will be able to find a lot of hotels and bed and breakfasts nearby the airport.

Finally I would like to wish that you have a thoroughly enjoyable short break in the amazing West Midlands city of Birmingham, England.

Great Britain is a proud nation who’s has ruled sea, countries and continents; her people have reached out into every corner of the world and are extremely well travelled but how are we viewed upon in these pastures new?

Expedia took a survey asking which European country had the best dressed tourist, Germany and France came first due to their fashionable traits from channel and Gucci whilst England took last place position and was crowned the title of the “world’s worst dressed tourist nation” which we think is absurd and will not be taken lying down.

Being British myself I feel ashamed about this title although I can see in some respects why we’ve been slapped with it.

an utter sin which we British utterly love is the killer combo ‘sandals and socks’, yes hearing them two words in the same sentences also makes me shiver and squinch, but in tradition it’s our stylemark attire which combines sensibility with comfortableness.

We always complain about the weather at home as it’s forever miserable and rarely sunny, forever raining and cold but when we eventually get to go abroad on sun Antigua holidaysor Dominican Republic holidays we try and mostly avoid the sun by caking ourselves in layer upon layer of sun cream which makes us appear pink and blotchy or we don’t apply any cream at all and burn like an ant under a microscope until we appear lobster red, stiff and in complete agony! Oh there’s no better way to compliment our prized attire.

Our Behaviour is absurd when we visit foreign countries, we spend our evenings drinking and running red faced around local towns and cities in complete and utter riot before passing out drunk in the hotel room, waking up at mid day looking like death and heading straight back out again for breakfast feeling as rough as toast, isn’t it appealing how class and culture just excludes from us aye, i hope your proud to to British!

Brighton is so much more than a seaside resort and those in the know will tell you that this city by the sea has a lot to offer in terms of nightlife. Less than an hour away from London, Brighton is funky and stylish and there is plenty for you to see and do both day and night.

If you want to catch a play, a music concert or some live comedy then look no further than the Brighton Dome. Housed in historic buildings associated with the famous Brighton Pavilion there is an all year round calendar of events scheduled here and depending on your time of visit you could attend an opera, a ballet, a rock music event or a family show. The Dome consists of three venues, The Concert Hall, The Pavilion Theatre and The Corn Exchange so you should not struggle to find an event you would like to attend during your visit here.

Another good venue for comedy, concerts and theatre is the Theatre Royal. The theatre has a reputation for presenting West End productions sometimes before they have been staged in London. Lots of high profile stars appear at the Theatre Royal so you could catch a comedy show or a play featuring one of your favorite television stars. The theatre also has a great reputation for family shows and live music.

Film lovers will want to visit Brightons famous Duke of Yorks Picture house Britains oldest Grade II listed cinema. The cinema specializes in art-house, foreign language and independent films as well as showing modern, old and cult classics. Whats more the auditorium at the cinema is fully licensed so you can take in a drink from the bar when watching a film. The cinema has a friendly atmosphere and comfy seats, making this the perfect place to spend an evening out.

If you fancy catching a spot of comedy, cabaret, jazz or world music then look no further than Komedia, an entertainment venue in the citys North Laine area. Not just an entertainment venue Komedia also offers food and drink at most of its seated shows. The schedule is literally jam-packed with events and you should not have any difficulty finding something to enjoy here.

For anyone who loves to party the night away in nightclubs then Brighton is the ideal destination. Renowned internationally for its vibrant club scene there are lively venues all over the city for night clubbers to enjoy. No matter what your taste in music you will have no problem finding a club to suit your tastes. Famous DJs play here all the time and clubbers flock to the city from all over the south of England – and further afield – to enjoy a night out in Brighton.

Bring to mind Nottingham and nearly all people recall the legend of Sir Robin Hood and Sherwood Forest and even though this attracts many visitors each year there is much more to Nottingham and Nottinghamshire than your would think. Indeed Nottingham has a respectable collection of great local attractions making it a superb place for a short break and the following article discusses the city and a small selection of Nottingham attractions, as well as some places offering B&B accommodation in Nottingham.

Nottingham is located in the county of Nottinghamshire, East Midlands, England, UK. As well as the legend of Robin Hood of Sherwood Forest and the Sheriff of Nottingham, the city is also associated with the lace making business especially during the Industrial Revolution when it gained a worldwide reputation for excellence.

Nottingham Lace Market

At one time the heart of the worldwide lace industry, at the time of the British Empire, the Lace Market in Nottingham is, today, a protected heritage area. It has a great many fantastic examples of industrial architecture of the Nineteenth Century. The market was not like a normal market, as such, instead of featuring salespersons and stalls, it was more a collection of warehouses and salesrooms displaying and selling lace. Following the collapse in the lace industry the area became derelict but, nowadays, most of the old warehouses have been renovated and restored for residential use and other purposes such as photographic studios and the likes. The Lace Market is a popular visitor attraction.

Galleries of Justice

Not a great distance from the Lace Market can be found the Galleries of Justice and Shire Hall. The Hall is a Georgian civic building which features Neoclassical columns, pilasters and dome. The front of the hall has, if you examine it carefully, a spelling error Goal rather than Gaol. The Hall has 2 well preserved courtrooms from the Victorian period plus old cells, a women’s prison, bath house, an Edwardian police station and a prisoner’s exercise yard.

Nottingham is a superb place to have a vacation. There is plenty to see and do within the city and a huge selection of visitor attractions which are readily accessible. Nearby places well worth visiting include; Newstead Abbey, Hardwick Hall and Wollaton Hall.

As all all B&B in England, accommodation in Nottingham is mostly of superb quality at a fair rate and many people choose to stay in Nottingham for only part of their break and then somewhere else for the remaining days.
