Beautiful and remote islands for the perfect holiday getaway.

On some holdiays you want to get out and about, see the sights and the different culture, but sometimes you just want to chill out, relax and do nothing.

Madeira

Madeira is the ideal Island escape, as it is a long way out in the Atlantic Ocean. The Island is full of stunning rugged scenery great for walkers and ramblers. It is a great Island for relaxing and taking it easy, as it is very peaceful and serene.

 

Easter Island

Easter Island is about as remote as you can get. Once you’ve taken a flight to the most westerly point of Chile, you’re still over 2,000 miles (3,500km) away from the island. The trip is totally worth it though, with some of the most sensational views in the world, including the world famous Moai statues. Easter Island is about as remote as you can get for an island. Koh Phi Phi Leh

Koh phi phi wasdmade famous by the Leonardo DiCaprio film The beach. Flights to Thailand are getting cheaper and cheaper at the moment, and Koh Phi Phi is best accessed by river from Krabi or Phuket.  The Island was really tampered with during the filming of the movie, but since the tsunami in 2004 most of the islands natural beauty has returned. 

 

Meerufenfushi

 

The Maldives archipelago contains some 1,200 beautiful islands, each with their own unique signature. The capital Malé is certainly worth visiting, but for an isolated relaxing holiday Meeru is one of the best resorts available to enjoy the pleasures of the beautiful Indian Ocean.

 

Necker Island

Sir Richard Branson has most things that money can buy, inlcuding his own exclusive island. Necker Island situtated in the British Virgin Islands of the Caribbean is about as private as you can get. The island only has the capacity for around 30 people, so bumping into tourists is not something you have to worry about!
